FAQs

  • Being given the opportunity to work at Kaiser has been such a full circle moment for me. When I was younger I always told my mom that I wanted to be a doctor and take care of people but, once I got older and started taking science and math classes, told her I wish that side of my brain was stronger but it just wasn’t the direction for me.

Working with my department has been such an amazing opportunity to see how design is a very important element in caring for our members. I feel ethically drawn to health care as the products we’re creating are aimed to streamline care in the easiest and most efficient ways possible. There’s no grey area, ulterior motive, or sales catch that we’re trying to hide from the users of our product.

  • I chose to go to Santa Barbara City College after high school because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study or where I wanted to go when considering a 4-year school. I was given the opportunity to play water polo on the school’s team and knew I loved my sport so when I went to meet the coach and team, after seeing the campus - school on the beach didn’t sound too bad!

While in SB I grew tremendously as a student, water polo player, and young adult. I was extremely disciplined, lived a vigorous routine of school and water polo, and was held accountable for my performance in and out of the pool. I excelled in my classes and found a love for design and history while studying at SBCC. I transferred to Davis for both History & Design in 2021 and graduated in 2023. I loved my experience and would recommend community college to any student considering all their options after high school!

  • I adore history. I love how understanding historical events is essential to comprehending the world we live in today. The study of history allows for the freedom to critically think. It often changes existing biases and ideas we have of places, people, and events and gives power and responsibility to the historian to dig deeper. Studying history has influenced my design by emphasizing the importance of context, empathy, and communication. Making my work not only visually appealing but also carrying meaningful narratives.
